Young People

The transition from child to adult can present all kinds of challenges.

Young people are naturally drawn to music and may use it themselves to help manage their own feelings. Downloading and listening to music with a therapist can be a helpful starting point for talking about emotions.

Where there are learning difficulties or problems with communication, things can sometimes feel really tough.

Individual or group music therapy sessions with a trained therapist can help to start exploring problems that might be difficult to talk about. Young people don’t have to have musical skills to come for music therapy – a willingness to be open to using music creatively is more important.
